One of the main reasons why gas masks tend to fog up is because the lens in the eye area is relatively cold compared to the warm gas present. This fogging can be quite inconvenient for the operators during actual usage. Consequently, scientists have extensively researched anti-fog technologies for various lenses to prevent this screen fogging issue.
The anti-fog lens works by preventing water vapor from condensing, and it achieves this by maintaining a lower temperature on the inner surface of the lens compared to the condensation temperature on screens or windows. It effectively controls the temperature on the inner side of the lens to eliminate condensation.
The anti-fog effect of the Haigu gas mask is attributed to the utilization of materialized lens anti-fog technology. This advanced technology prevents the formation of water mist by employing hydrophilic or hydrophobic chemicals to hinder the transformation of water vapor into droplets. To ensure optimal clarity, the surface of the gas mask's polycarbonate is coated with an anti-fog layer and the effective anti-fog technology is carefully implemented.
The method of anti-fog for artificial lens involves manual intervention where the formed fog is eradicated, and the water vapor droplets on the lens are wiped away. As the use of gas masks for national defense continues to grow, there is a need for better anti-fog technology, and the trend is for comprehensive anti-fog technology.
